Plug-Ins
How do I watch the movies?
To watch the movies, you need to download and install the latest
version of either Windows Media Player, Apple QuickTime player or
RealOne Player. Our default player and prefered player is the
Windows Media Player.
Why can't I watch the movies?
Our movies require either a RealOne Player 8 or RealOne plug-in,
Windows Media Player or QuickTime Player installed on your computer.
Please make sure you have the player software installed on your
computer.
Unfortunately, WebTV does not support video feeds that are encoded
above 24kbs, so WebTV users will not be able to watch the streaming
movies.
Why are some movies blurry?
There are two possibilities on why the video feed is blurry.
1. The quality the movies is relative
to the speed of your modem. If you are using a 56k modem to access
GirlGirlBang.com, your connection speed may be too slow to get a
high-quality video stream; therefore, the film may appear blurry or
be delivered like a film strip instead of a movie.
2. The problem may lie with your video-player settings. In the
settings for the RealOne Player or Windows Media Player, please be
sure you have selected the proper modem speed. There are fields for
minimum and maximum speeds which, if incorrectly set, will limit the
amount of bandwidth the incoming video stream can use.
Can I download the films on GirlGirlBang.com?
Yes, if you choose the "Download Episode" option you can download a
high quality version of the movie in .mpg format.
Why does my computer crash when I try to view
movies?
As with all programs and plug-ins, RealOne Player, Windows Media
Player and/or Web browsers can freeze or crash your computer. This
should not happen on a regular basis. When using a demanding
application like a streaming video player, try not to have other
programs running that might be using system resources. If it seems
that the player you are using is causing continual problems, please
contact the appropriate support department at
RealOne Player
Problems or Windows Media
Player Problems or
QuickTime Player.
What is streaming?
The term "streaming" refers to files that are designed to play as
they download without the need to complete the download before you
begin playing it. These streaming files are specially encoded and
delivered from high-performance streaming servers. The whole process
is designed to let you enjoy more great, high-quality content
faster. There are many streaming products on the Net: music, videos,
animations and more.
What is video compression?
In order to deliver quality video over the Internet, digitized video
clips are compressed using custom software. These video files start
out so big that downloading them would take many hours, even on a
high-speed connection. Compression decreases the file size, allowing
for a reasonable amount of download time or streaming capability.
GirlGirlBang.com compresses video files with numerous different
technologies, such as Real Server (the streaming technology behind
the RealOne Player) or Windows Streaming Format (playable through
your Windows Media Player).
What is RealOne Player?
RealOne Player is a third party "plug-in" which when installed into
your web browser offers streaming media in many different formats
such as audio and video. For the latest version of RealOne Player,
get to the free player, look for a small text link that says REAL
PLAYER BASIC near the bottom of the page.
What is Windows Media Player?
Windows Media Player is a multiformat media-viewing system. It also
supports a high-quality streaming format for GirlGirlBang.com.
latest version of Windows Media Player.
Can WebTV users watch the movies on
GirlGirlBang.com?
Currently, WebTV doesn't support streaming media that is encoded
higher than 24kbps. The slowest GirlGirlBang.com streams are encoded
at a minumum of 34kbps, thus GirlGirlBang.com does not support WebTV
for streaming movies. WebTV users will, however, be able to
download the movies.
Windows Media Player Help
Windows Media Player screen is green with pink,
wavy lines.
To fix this Media Player problem, try to disable YUV flipping. Here
are some step-by-step instructions:
1. Open a stream in the player.
2. Click "File" and choose "Properties".
3. Choose the "Advanced" tab.
4. Select "Video Renderer" from the list of filters in use and click
the "Change" button.
5. Select the "Direct Draw" tab.
6. Remove the checkmark next to "YUV Flipping".
7. Close and restart the player and that problem should be
alleviated.
Windows Media Player Buffers in the middle of a
video and/or the video seems really choppy.
Change the Windows Media Player buffer for better performance.
The buffer is related to the amount of video you download before it
actually begins to play. Increasing the buffer may enhance streaming
performance, especially if you have a 56K modem. In the Windows
Media Player, right click on the video. Select "Properties". Choose
the "Advanced" tab. Highlight "Windows Media Source Filter". Click
the "Properties" button. Increase the "Buffer" to 30 seconds.
Select the correct bandwidth option for your connection:
To ensure that videos stream as smoothly as possible, be sure that
you have selected the correct bandwidth option for your connection.
Use the "Modify" button in the menu bar on any page to change your
bandwidth connection speed at any time.
Setting the Windows Media Player to function
Behind a Proxy or Firewall (not for people with modems or other
kinds of direct connections to the Internet).
Some schools and offices have firewalls or proxy servers which are
between your computer and the Internet. If this is your case, you
need to make sure that your player is set up to pass through the
firewall. In the Windows Media Player, right click on the video.
Select "Properties". Choose the "Advanced" tab. Highlight "Windows
Media Source Filter". Click on the "Properties" button. Click on
"Configure Proxy Settings," then enter the name (or IP address) of
your proxy.
Whenever I try to view a video, it tries to
connect to the server...then it says "Closed."
To find out more information on what the error is, right click in
the viewing window of your Windows Media player after it says
"closed." Select "Error Details" from the menu. This should give you
more information on what the problem is so you can find the correct
help topic here.
I downloaded the Windows Media player, but every
time I try to play a video it says, "The specified stream type is
not recognized."
Are you running Windows NT? We've determined that NT users who do
not have permission to install software will see the media-player
installation run and appear to work, but in reality the codecs don't
get updated. This causes problems. See your network administrator
for proper installation.
I received a "connection to the server failed,"
"could not connect to the server," or some other, similar message.
Chances are we are experiencing heavy Web traffic, which is tying up
our streaming server. Try to watch the video again later, and it
should be fine.
I have a T1 or cable connection, but whenever I
try to watch a video, it is Choppy or the Frame Rate is much slower
than the audio rate.
If you have tried increasing your buffer size and made sure you have
the proper bandwidth selected, then most likely this is caused by
your having either outdated hardware (a Pentium or lower), an
outdated operating system (Win 3.1), an outdated browser (Netscape
3, IE3) or not enough memory, video ram, etc. The Windows media
codecs are optimized for Pentium III and run fine on Pentium II, but
on a Pentium or lower they choke completely. Also you need a decent
amount of system resources, RAM, VRAM etc. to get good results. .
Every time I go to play the video, I get a GPF
Error.
This kind of error usually pops up due to a software conflict or
improper install of system level software. Try the latest update for
Windows and Internet Explorer.
My Internet security settings do not allow the
New Decompressor to be installed.
This is caused by the Windows Media player's attempt to
automatically install a newer version of the codec needed to play
the video. Before you click to watch the video, set your browser's
security in the preferences (or Internet options) to low. Then click
to watch the video, and you should not get this error. After you
have watched the video, you can set your browser security back to
medium or high and watch all the videos you want since Windows Media
player will have properly installed the newer version of the codec.
In Windows Media player, every time I try to play
a video it says, "The specified stream type is not recognized," the
colors appear strange, or I see the video fine but I don't hear
anything.
You might need the newest Windows codec (the compression algorithm
for the media file). When you first attempted to install Windows
Media Player, you may not have had the necessary permission to
install software, or your Internet security may have been set to
medium or high. This will prevent the codecs from being properly
installed. Change your Internet security to low during the
installation process, or see your network administrator for proper
installation.
In Windows Media Player, I clicked on a video and
it asked if I wanted to download and install a new codec. What
should I do? Or: I installed a new codec and now I'm having problems
watching or hearing the videos.
If you try to view a video and your computer asks you if you want to
install a new codec, check your security settings before selecting
"yes":
In Internet Explorer, in either the "View" or the "Tools" menu, find
the "Internet Options" dialog box and open it. Click on the
"Security" tab in this window. Make sure that your security setting
for the Internet zone is set to "Low" before installing the new
codecs. If you select "Yes" to add a new codec, you MUST restart
your system for the new codec to function properly. If you installed
a new codec, but did not follow these instructions, you may now be
having problems.
RealOne Player does not embed in Netscape
(RealPlayer support).
1. Start Netscape Communicator.
2. Click "Edit" and choose "Preferences".
3. Double-click Navigator to expand the list.
4. Select "Applications".
5. Scroll to see if the RealPlay File type is listed. If the file
type is listed, select it and click the "Edit" button. If the file
type is not listed, click the "New Type" button and follow the
instructions.
6. Enter the following information in the appropriate fields:
Description of Type RealVideo File:
Extension .rpm
MIME Type audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin.
7. For the application to use, click the "Browse" button and locate
the Realplay.exe program (default location is C:Program
FilesRealRealplayer).
8. Click OK.
Every time I try to open a video, it says the
File Path Is Incorrect.
This can be caused by a number of problems. If every video you try
to watch on our site returns this error, it is a temporary problem
caused by our streaming server's breaking down from excess usage.
During regular business hours, this should only take a few minutes
to fix once we are aware of the problem, so check back soon and
everything should work. On the other hand, if you only receive this
error for one particular video, then it is possible that the video
file has been corrupted, and we would appreciate your feedback so we
can fix it. Send us an email at
moviesupport@GirlGirlBang.com.
RealOne Player doesn't stop buffering.
If you receive the message "cannot buffer entire clip," you need to
lower the number of seconds your player is taking to buffer the
stream.
For Windows
Right click on the video image. Select "Edit Preferences". Under the
"General" tab, look for "Buffered Play". Choose "Buffered at
least..." Enter the number of seconds you want your player to
buffer. (Try 10 seconds.) Click OK.
For Mac: Hold down mouse button on video image. Select "Edit
Preferences". Look for "PerfectPLay/BufferedPLay". Choose "Buffered
at Least..." Enter the number of seconds you want your player to
buffer. (Try 10 seconds.) Click OK.

Plug-Ins
Plug-ins are small applications that give your browser extra
capabilities, such as playback of audio or video files, 2-D or 3-D
animation, and so on. When you try to view or hear a file that
requires a plug-in, like a movie or sound clip, the necessary
plug-in launches automatically—if you already have it. Current
browsers come prepackaged with the most popular plug-ins (some are
listed below), but if you don't have the plug-in you need, you can
download it from the developer's site. Plug-ins are generally free,
though some offer advanced features for an extra fee. If you
download and install a plug-in but find that you still can't view
the desired files, quit the browser and reopen it. Some older
browsers require you to quit the program in order to fully install a
plug-in.
